As we are striving to develop self-discipline, we must also remember to practice self-grace.
Grace is defined as “undeserved favor,” or “good toward those who have no claim on, nor reason to expect favor.” Those definitions in themselves imply that the person receiving the favor is less than perfect, so is it fair to expect perfection from ourselves?
Experiencing success every day isn’t the goal, learning more about ourselves and our God, as we work to align ourselves to His will is the goal. So, on “off” days, don’t beat yourself up, and definitely don’t quit! Instead, ask yourself WWJD and then extend yourself some grace just like He does!
